Pickleball Courts: Singapore Market Snapshot

Updated as sources changeData as of 02 Sept 2026

At a glance

  • Private operators: roughly 15–25
  • Public courts: 80+ via ActiveSG and dual-use sites
  • Typical private rate: S$24–48 per hour
  • Demand: very strong; ActiveSG bookings up about tenfold, 2023–2025
  • How crowded: busy, but supply still trails demand

Bottom line: Players struggle to get court time, but a new private venue competes with cheap government courts and a growing set of well-funded operators. Location, shelter and price tier matter more than simply opening courts.

1. Number of active venues/operators

Estimate: roughly 15–25 private pickleball operators, plus 80+ public courts.

  • Confidence: medium. The private count comes from cross-checking 2025–2026 roundups and venue pages, not an official register. Several operators run multiple sites; Play! Pickle alone lists five locations. (Honeycombers)
  • Public supply is better documented. Sport Singapore says there are now more than 80 courts allocated for pickleball across ActiveSG centres and dual-use sites, after eight sheltered courts opened at Little India Bus Terminal in March 2026. (Sport Singapore)
  • More public supply is coming. The government plans 50 more multipurpose courts for badminton or pickleball over the next five years. (Sport Singapore)
  • Demand signal: ActiveSG pickleball bookings rose tenfold between 2023 and 2025. (Malay Mail)

2. Typical hourly court rental price (S$)

  • Public (ActiveSG): S$4.50–9.50. Outdoor courts for citizens and PRs; peak slots by ballot.
  • Budget private / off-peak: S$5–24. Play! Pickle Chai Chee weekday daytime from S$5; PickleChoo S$16.50–20.
  • Standard private: S$24–35. The most common band, e.g. Racket Jungle Dempsey at S$29.
  • Premium / central / indoor: S$40–48. MBP Sports Marina Square S$44; Play! Pickle Serangoon up to S$48.
  • Top end: S$60–71. Pickle and Bones, Somerset, with membership.

Typical private range: S$24–48/hour, with peak and weekend tiering almost everywhere. Paddle rental runs about S$5/hour where charged.

  • Confidence: high for individual price points, taken from venue listings in a 2026 roundup (Fzine) and ActiveSG rates (TheSmartLocal). Medium for the typical band, since some venues were running launch promotions.

3. Geographic concentration

Highest concentration observed in:

  • Central and CBD rooftops: Marina Square, Suntec, One Fullerton, Somerset and Outram near Havelock MRT. These carry the highest prices.
  • North-east and east: Serangoon, Punggol, Sengkang, Chai Chee and Kallang. This is the densest cluster of private and public courts.
  • Lifestyle enclaves: Dempsey Hill, one-north and Woodleigh.
  • Thinner coverage: the west and north have fewer private operators, though public ActiveSG courts are spread island-wide.
  • Confidence: medium. This is read off venue addresses in the sources below, not a formal density study.

What to watch

  • Noise is a real constraint. Pickleball generated more than 700 noise complaints in 18 months, and some estates have blocked badminton courts from being converted. Rooftops and commercial sites avoid this. (GeoNoise Asia)
  • Government supply sets a price floor. ActiveSG courts at S$4.50–9.50 mean private venues must justify their premium with shelter, air-conditioning, location or community events.
